Key Fashion Trends for 2014 - Start Building Your Summer Wardrobe Now!

The start of the new season is always a key date for fashion lovers as it means just one thing; a fresh new wardrobe. The autumn/winter trends have offered some exciting styles and spring/summer 2014 is set to continue in this spirit, with a collection of interesting pieces to add some glamour to your collection. These key trends provide the perfect place to start when updating your wardrobe for the summer.

Pastel Colours

With the light, summer months comes the introduction of pastel colours, which are the perfect fresh trend for a new season. There are all sorts of colours to choose from with this trend; including lilac and baby blue and you can incorporate it with any fashion item; even teaming it up with another key trend for the summer for the full stylish effect. If you have quite a colourless autumn/winter wardrobe, this will certainly brighten it up.

Waistcoat

Anyone can wear a waistcoat and look good in it, it is just a question of getting the style and size right to suit your shape. Waistcoats are a good trend to wear for a night out during the summer months and you can team them up with trousers or jeans for alternative options. If you get the look wrong though, people will be asking where their cards are as they may mistake you for a croupier, so it’s important to take time to perfect the look. If in doubt, ask a stylist for advice on what style suits you best.

Wide Leg Trousers

These have been widely exhibited on the catwalk for the summer season and you don’t have to be a supermodel to wear this key trend. If you choose the right size and style of wide leg trousers, preferably the high waisted options, you can elongate your frame and flatter your silhouette. There are many different occasions for wide leg trousers, including office wear or for a relaxing look for the weekend.

Bomber Jackets

We have seen these in abundance in the high street and the style looks set to continue throughout the summer season. You can find bomber jackets in a wide range of textures, fabrics and colours and these can be worn as part of a casual look with a pair of jeans or with a dress if you want to look stylish for an occasion. These are lightwear jackets, so are ideal for wearing during the warmer weather.

There are many exciting new trends set to hit the high street for summer and you can stay ahead of the style stakes by preparing your wardrobe now for the new season. You can combine some of the trends together or wear them as separates, depending on what you prefer. You will find that many of the new trends are already available in the shops, so update your wardrobe now and you’ll be excited to try them out for the new season approaching.

Posh Welly Review

Product: Posh Welly, Women’s Premium Welly

Price: £69.95

I kindly received the Posh Welly, Women’s Premium Welly pictured above from www.joules.com for review purposes. I chose the black wellies in a size 4. The wellies are available in five different colours; Black, Green, Navy, Pink, Yellow and are available in sizes 3-8.

I found that my wellies were true to size. My order arrived extremely quickly and they were beautifully packaged in a lovely matt floral printed cardboard box. The quality and detail of the boots are fantastic. I find a lot of women’s wellies can look boring and frumpy but these are a lot prettier and much more feminine and girly. I was very pleasantly surprised as these looked much better in real life.

The boots are black rubber and have a gold lined enamel joules plaque at the front of the boot just below the knee area; they also have a small cute buckle at the side of the boot which is adjustable and a striped stocking like red and yellow lining which runs down the middle of the back of the boot. The boots also have a pretty floral silky lining which I feel is a nice added extra touch and finishes off the look of the boots nicely. The boots have exceptional cold weather resistance, a new tread pattern for enhanced grip and a hardwearing rubber sole.

These are extremely comfortable, practical and are of a great design. I’m really pleased with my wellies; they are perfect for town and country and are built to last season after season, perfect. In all honesty I’m not sure if I would pay £69.95 for a pair of wellies but I can definitely tell and feel the difference between these and a cheaper pair that I own. I know that I will be opting for these ones each time I need to wear this particular footwear so maybe it is worth spending that little bit more.

Huge thumbs up for me.
