Vera Wang Princess Perfume Review

Product: Vera Wang, Princess, Eau De Toilette

Cost: £43.00

Size:
50ml

From:
Debenhams

I put my hands up and fully admit that the first thing which attracted me to Vera Wang's Princess Eau De Toilette was the pretty bottle, i'm such a sucker for pretty packaged products and couldn't resist purchasing when I saw the perfume out on display for the first time. I bought the 50ml perfume for £43.00 from a Debenhams store.

The Vera Wang perfume bottle is made of cleared glass, it is a chunky heart shape and as a gold bejewelled crown lid which can also be worn as a ring. A word of warning; the lid is quite annoying as if often falls off very easily, frustrating to say the least and in all honestly it left me feeling disappointed as for £43.00 i'd expect at the very least for the lid to stay put.

The perfume inside is a light purple colour, overall the appearance of the bottle is very pretty and cute, a must have for any girly girls dressing table.

The perfume for me is quite sweet smelling and floral like, not a strong smell at all, quite light compared to the majority of my collection of other perfumes. The fragrance contains the following notes: water Lilly, apple, mandarin, meringue, apricot skin, dark chocolate, amber, musk and vanilla. I'd describe this as a feminine kind of smell, suited to the girly girls out there.

Once applying the perfume it's a pleasant enough smell but I find the perfume disappears very, very quickly from my skin. Infact after a few hours I can't smell the perfume at all.

Needless to say I won't be re-purchasing this perfume again, pretty bottle but that's the best thing about it, afterall I like and expect my perfume to last longer than 30 minutes or so!!!

Rating
: 5/10 (mainly for the pretty packaging).

Essential Buys

Essentially for me that is!!! Money-wise i've been quite good recently and haven't bought anything for myself clothing/shoe/accessories-wise for quite a while now (okay, okay probably a few weeks or so but that's good for a self confessed shopaholic as myself, right?!).

Whilst browsing around the shops at lunchtime on my break (lethal when your office is just a minutes walk from the town centre) i bought the following:

Straight Leg Jeans from River Island (i'll wear mine without the turn ups), these for me are just the same fit as skinny jeans although i find the straight leg ones much more flattering:

Button Knit Jumper from Topshop. I couldn't find a picture online of the Mushroom coloured one which i bought as it's sold out, but it's this one just a different colour:

As anyone bought anything nice recently or are you saving yourself for the (dare i say it) January sales?

Urban Decay Naked Palette Review

Product: Urban Decay Naked Palette

From: Debenhams

Price: £27.50

I'm a huge fan of Urban Decay eye shadows, they're so long lasting and highly pigmented which makes it one of my top make-up brands out there, especially for eye shadows, personally in my opinion even beating the likes of MAC which are well known to be one of the top beauty brands.

I've bought quite a few of the Urban Decay Palettes so when I heard months before about the new Naked Palette which contains neutral eye shadows, my preferred choice of shades, I was eagerly awaiting it's arrival.

Once the release date finally arrived, I tried to buy the product online but to no avail, literally every online store that had stocked the Naked Palette had sold out within hours, boo. Being the impatient person that i am, i couldn't wait for the re-stock so headed to the Bullring the very next day and purchased the well stocked palette in-store at Debenhams.

The Palette is a sleek rectangular shape with a brown flocked material covering which makes it that more luxurious and soft to the touch. It as gold foiled lettering on top of the Palette spelling out NAKED in large upper case letters then in smaller upper case letters spells out URBAN DECAY beneath it, the Palette also as a magnetic shut closure.

The palette contains the following 12 eye shadow shades:

* Virgin
* Sin
* Naked
* Sidecar
* Buck
* Half Baked
* Smog
* Darkhorse
* Toasted
* Hustle
* Creep
* Gunmetal

Some of the shades are Matte, Satin, Shimmer to Fine Glitter, all of the shades are neutral colours which are highly pigmented and have excellent blend-ability.

The Palette also includes a double end 24/7 Urban Decay eye pencil, one end a black pencil and the other end a brown pencil. The pencils are very smooth and creamy, easy to apply and very longlasting on the waterline.

The Palette also contains a small bottle of the Urban Decay Primer Potion which is a liquid base to apply on your eye lids under your eye shadows, this stops the eye shadow creasing or fading throughout the day. I've used this and it's absolutely fantastic, a must try if you haven't tried it out before.

The palette is small enough to fit inside your handbag so great for on the go application, it also as a large mirror inside the lid of the palette so you can apply your make up there and then, great for any make-up lovers out there.

The Naked Palette is definitely my favourite Palette, I use this one the most regularly, infact daily, with the choice of shades you can easily create looks for both day and evening wear, an instant transformation.

This is definitely the best £27.50 i've ever spent on make-up, a 10/10 rating for me.
