Soap and Glory, Hand Food Review

I love Soap and Glory Products and have purchased the full sized Hand Food previously, so this time I decided to buy the smaller tube as it lasts so long and figured it'd be handy to keep on my desk at work, that way I have no excuses not to keep my hands well moisturised. I bought the cream from Boots at £2.25 for 50ML. Even though it's "Mini Hand Food" it is of a generous size and the same size as many Hand Creams out there on the market. As with all Soap and Glory Products the packaging is lovely, simple yet effective and very eye catching.

What the Product says it aims to do?

Soap & Glory Hand Food® Hand Cream is a super-silky gorgeously-scented non-greasy hydrating hand cream which leaves the perfect amount of moisture on your skin.

Apply a little Soap & Glory Hand Food® Hand Cream as often as you want to soften, smooth and soothe dry, chapped or otherwise hampered hands and relish in the delightful aroma's of fresh bergamot, strawberries and mandarin, with floral and fruity midnotes, and musk, amber and warm vanilla.

Soap & Glory® formulas are not tested on animals, only very picky people.

My view?

The smell of the Hand Food is really pleasant, it's exactly the smell in which is described above, floral and fruity, if I had to describe it in only one word I'd describe it as a "fresh" smell. I only have to apply a little amount of the cream to my hands, once applied it glides easily over the skin, it absorbs well and leaves it with a non-greasy feel. My hands feel well moisturised afterwards and it leaves them feeling really soft and refreshed. You can apply the cream as often as you like, it's the best hand cream I've ever used which I will definitely continue purchasing, it does exactly what it says it will on the tube, another fantastic product by Soap and Glory.

Maybelline Event

Yesterday i attended the Maybelline Event hosted at Loreal Headquarters in Hammersmith, London. I travelled from Birmingham down to London with Carly where we met Emma, Phoebe and Sarah at Euston Station. We had a little free time before the event so we did what we did best and did a little shopping in Selfridges, i bought:

Muji Storage Clear 2 Drawer Box, MAC 239 Eyeshadow Brush and MAC All That Glitters Eyeshadow:

We then got on the tube and headed over to Hammersmith. Once we reached the Loreal Headquarters we were greeted by the lovely Natalie from Headstream PR and the Maybelline Team, the two Katie's and Charlotte. We were then shown to the seating area and had a choice of a selection of drinks, yummy sandwiches and delicious cakes.

Next was a presentation of the Maybelline Products and a little more background into the company. I admit that before the event i always thought of Maybelline as a "safe" brand, the first thing that sprang to mind when the name was previously mentioned for me is Maybelline Mascara, that's the only product for me which was the most memorable. After watching the presentation it did change my view on the products making me more aware that there is a lot more to the Maybelline brand, a variety of products and different looks which can be achieved. All at reasonable affordable prices yet still quality products.

Katie during the presentation told us all how the name Maybelline was created. In 1915 a lady name Maybel was left heartbroken due to the fact that her boyfriend had left her for another woman. Desperate to woo her boyfriend back Maybel needed something to give her that "wow factor", she went to her brother, Williams, for help who then mixed Coal Dust with Vaseline to apply to her eyelashes to give them a darker fuller look. He adapted it in his little laboratory and produced a product sold locally called Lash-Brow-Ine. The product was a local hit, but the awkward name held it back. His sister, who inspired the product, was named Maybel. So T.L. Williams re-named it Maybelline, a combination of Maybel and Vaseline. It is under this name that Maybelline has achieved its now legendary status in the field of cosmetics. How sweet is that, did Maybel win her boyfriend back? She sure did!!

After the presentation we were given the opportunity to test the products for ourselves, the team were on hand to answer any questions and give more information about the products. All the team were very informative, friendly and welcoming.

Two make up artists were also on hand to show how to create the different looks, i viewed one creating the "natural look":

We were also given two goodie bags packed with goodies, i can't wait to test them all out. I think first on the list will be the NEW Pulse Perfection Vibrating Mascara, i'm intrigued, so keep your eyes peeled out for a review on that:

I had a fab day and it was lovely to meet some of the other girls, thanks again for the invite Natalie.
